Barrnon has been officially endorsed by the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre as ‘Fit For Nuclear’ – the benchmark for British companies entering the civil nuclear supply chain.
Nuclear AMRC supports a range of manufacturers in the sector from SMEs to multi-national corporations. It provides a range of services including research and development support and advice on issues like manufacturing, procurement and quality standards.
The Fit For Nuclear programme is an intense 12-18 month business improvement journey that helps companies meet the standards required in the nuclear industry. After an initial assessment and site visit, companies must complete a bespoke improvement action plan before they are added to the F4N online directory.
“Achieving Fit For Nuclear status is another significant step forward for Barrnon,” said managing director, Andy Barr. “Our aim is to create world-class nuclear decommissioning solutions and it’s great to know we have the support of Nuclear AMRC as we take our innovative products to market.”
